(The movie shows a ladie whom is asked what part of the body this sculpture represents. She guessed wrong several times until the reporter tells her it is the anus. Then the artist himself describes the sculpture as a bar which the viewer can enter.)

Het was -zoals wel vaker- een wirwar van verschillende benaderingen. Vooral de ethische benadering van deze issues werd belicht. De ethische benadering werd vaak ingewisseld voor politiek-juridische benaderingen.

Ik had stiekem gehoopt om de levensbeschouwelijke benadering wat meer te horen.

Wanneer is iets dan wel ‘levensbeschouwelijk’? Mijn aandacht werd in ieder geval geprikkeld over het onderwerp: in hoeverre is een paspoort een levensbeschouwelijk symbool (en niet een juridisch document). Wat maakt een symbool? Welke functie vervult het symbool? Met welke gevoelens hangt dit symbool samen? Leeft het symbool voor jou? Zo ja.. hoe?

Daar gaan we wat meer de diepte in hoe het Nederlanderschap beleefd wordt en hoe deze levensbeschouwelijke grondlaag verder uitwerkt in de samenleving.
